Scootle Resources

Sharing Scootle Resources

My chosen context is Year Two Mathematics.  The content description is Measurement and Geometry under Using Units of Measurement

  • Tell time to the quarter-hour, using the language of ‘past’ and ‘to’ (ACMMG039)

The Elaboration is

Describing the characteristics of quarter-past times on an analogue clock, and identifying that the small hand is pointing just past the number and the big hand is pointing to the three.

This chosen resource from Scootle is called ‘After school – Analogue and Digital

This game is to help Neo get home from school.  Put analogue clocks showing on the quarter-hour times in the correct order.  Match the times on the digital clocks with those on the analogue clocks.

This resource is aim at assisting students to understand ‘quarter past’ and ‘quarter to’.  It is a great resource as the students are given immediate oral feedback on their progress and are able to re do if required.

When I go out to my Professional Placement I will be teaching in a Year 2 Classroom and I have been checking student blogs who shared year two resources.  On Cassandra’s blog I found resources for year two English to be very interesting and will be reading up on this resource for my Professional Placement.
